1. Who we are

Assistant De Venté ("we", "us", "our") operates assistantdevente.com, an AI-powered cross-border shopping assistant for the UK, France, and Germany. For data-protection questions contact us at privacy@assistantdevente.com.

2. What we collect

• Account data (if you sign in): email address, display name.
• Usage data: chat messages, searches, saved items, alerts you create.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device, pages visited, timestamps.

3. How we use your data (legal basis)

• To provide the service — performance of a contract.
• To improve product quality and AI responses — legitimate interests.
• To send price alerts you've requested — consent / contract.
• To comply with legal obligations — legal obligation.

4. Third parties we share data with

• Hosting & database: our cloud backend provider.
• AI processing: chat messages are processed by our AI model provider.
• Payment processing: Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe") processes all paid subscriptions and receives the data needed to process transactions, manage subscriptions, collect taxes, issue invoices, and handle refunds. See stripe.com/privacy.
• Analytics: aggregated usage statistics.
• Affiliate networks & retailers: outbound clicks may set their own cookies; we do not share account data with them.
• Professional advisers & authorities: where required by law.

5. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures: TLS/HTTPS in transit, encryption at rest, row-level security, role-based access, hashed credentials, audit logging, and periodic provider reviews. No method is 100% secure, but we apply industry-standard safeguards.

6. International transfers

Some providers (including Stripe) process data outside the UK/EEA. Where this happens we rely on UK IDTA / EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy decision.

7. Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active and for up to 12 months after deletion. Chat logs are retained up to 90 days. Billing records are kept by Stripe and by us for the period required by tax and accounting law (typically 6–10 years).

8. Your rights (UK & EU GDPR)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Email privacy@assistantdevente.com. You can also complain to the UK ICO (ico.org.uk) or your local EU supervisory authority.

9. Children

The service is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be highlighted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
